Igor Muskatblit

I was born in Santiago Chile in 1973, I arrived in Canada with my family in Oct, 1986.
I love the moving, sublime qualities of abstract painting. I use abstract boundaries and surface texture to create images that deal with the difficulties of contemporary life. The slow-drying medium of oil painting helps me explore and express all my personal predicament, process rather than some static ideal always being the goal.
My painting technique, involves discrete unconnected stains, lines and sometimes plains of paint placed on the canvas, a sequence of creations and destruction , layers, cover ups , divisions, struggles, and at times triumphs. Always remembering that paintings are never created , only discovered.
