On April 10th Cody Smith will launch his third series of work at Brockton Collective. This date will also mark the one year anniversary of ‘Street’, Smith’s transitional body of work that has served as the artistic platform for his new practice.
During the past year Smith returned to his home region of Niagara. This move triggered visual memories that subconsciously bled into his paintings forming the bases of ‘VOIDS’. Smith views this series as an exploration of his visual past, and its influence on the future.
Smith’s unique interpretation of the Canadian landscape has reached new heights of emotional resonance as his paintings possess more vigour and grit than ever before to reveal the Voids that exist within us all.
